The Role of Youth in National Development

Youth are the future of country. Any idea of national development is just a myth without the active participation of youth in it. National development is like a relay race. The old generation passes on the baton to the waiting team. The young have dreams, passion and hopes. They are dynamic. Their bubbling enthusiasm has to be regulated and utilized. Their surplus power has to be exploited for the welfare of the country. Proper guidance and direction can bring them in the fore front of national development.
The government of India has been rather slow to recognize the role of youth in national development. Even the state government and voluntary organization do something. The N CC and N SS provide a useful platform .They train the youth of the country to be dedicated volunteers in national calamities and in war. They have proved their worth in running relief works in the earthquake effected area in Gujarat N SS units have successfully utilized the youth power for national development. Be it growing more trees or keeping the environment clean. The young N SS volunteers have done a wonderful job. The youth should be engaged in constructive and gainful works. We should not their youth energy go waste. Let us organize and utilizes the youth for national development.
